Both the fuel and temperature gauge always default to read full/high. Should I be looking for a fuse in the fuse panel, or how would I know if it is a power supply problem instead?I SO CHANGED THE INJECTORS THE IS NO FUEL PRESSURE REGULATER ON THIS CAR UNDER THE HOOD THE FUEL LINE COMMING FROM THE FUEL FILTER IS GOING TO THE FUEL RAIL THANKS LARRYCar was fine running fine and starting fine. The weather turned cold last night and now it won't start. Mechanic said it looked like a blown head gasket, asked if it was overheating. It WASN'T OVERHEATING. Could this be something else? Makes a funny noise when trying to start.My 2000 Sentra started running rough on the way to work just as I decellerated to get off interstate. Wierd thing is that the RPM Guage quit working for the remainder of the trip (about 15 miles. It continued to run rough and the cruise would not work at all. After the car sat for about an hour it started and ran fine, but the service engine light is on. Cruise works fine also. Bad crank sensor?1.6 Liter manual transmission
Car sat for 2 years, runs great if I pour fuel in throttle body. Appears plenty of fuel getting to Brand New throttle body injector, but none comes out injector. In case itís related, with ignition on I get a buzzing sound in throttle body near accelerator cable that goes away if I disconnect Idle Speed Control. Engine runs the same with ISC disconnected. Any advice on tracking down failure to a sensor, switch or whatever's buzzing? Haynes gives me no voltages etc so any specifics, even just educated guesses could help.I recently bought a 2002 Sentra and after a month,
when I back out of my driveway, which is on a slight downward incline and turn into the street, I hear a clankly-chankly (like marbles in in your hubcab). It only happens at this point in driving and only when I turn the wheel to to the right coming out of the driveway. It's still under 3 year warranty, so I would like to get it fixed while I still have time and know a little about, so I'm not snowballed.
ThanksThe trans (manual 5sp) will barely go into reverse w/o grinding. When/if I depress the clutch, I hear loud whirling sound which appears to vary irrespective of engine speed. The only way to shift into reverse is to shift to 1st, then immediately into reverse.
Too bad because the car is in mint condition. 158k miles, orig. owner, etc.
Is it worth fixing??

(12-valve, TBI California) engine.
Suddenly would not rev above idle
(stalls if given throttle) and now
does not start at all (starter cranks OK).
I have already checked out the fuel pressure
(regulated to 40 psi at the TBI?)
Injector is clicking (only once when key is turned).
so signal is getting to injector ok.
I did replace the injector and O2 sensor anyway.
Plenty of spark, but still no evidence of gas
(plugs are always dry when pulled).
ECU has no codes (reads 5 red /5 green).
I have an MAS or ECU failure?
Seems like engine should at least start if
it is only the MAS...
Also, I tried cranking with the MAS disconnected
and STILL got 5/5 from the ECU.
Please help.Starting in January 2004 the gear on the govenor keeps stripping, this happens suddenly and then I am only able to drive 15 miles an hour and no higher.
When my husband replaces the plastic gear it will drive fine. So far it only lasts about 3 weeks and it strips again. Someone suggested that the transmission cooler might be bad. Is there a way to check if the transmission cooler is working properly. Or do you have another idea what it could be?
Esther RaineyBlew the Head gasket on my sentra and was pretty sure I stopped the motor before a complete cook. replaced the head gasket but now the valves are loud as hell. Adjusted the rockers but still noisy. Cam seems OK. Do the valve springs go soft under extreme heat? or are the valve stems just sticking in the guides?My car has no power, I cannot get enough speed to
shift into the next gear.We're attempting to be shade tree mechanics here between the family and friends. My son's Nissan Sentra has been so dependable, but now it turns over and doesn't start.
We'd attempted to push start it. It started but the windshield was fogged up so I reached down and turned the fan on. It quit. I tried to let it go backwards downhill to pop the clutch in reverse. But it didn't work and the car is sitting in the driveway now. It tries very hard to turn over, but doesn't fire now.
We replaced the spark plugs, wires, rotor, etc. and found a "new" coil with transistor in the junk yard yesterday. We thought that it would now start, but no go. Are there sensors that could be causing this and if so, which ones? The junkyard also has a brain we can get if needed, but I've already bought a lot of parts that we probably didn't need.
715/635-2900 Spooner, WIhi, a wire started smoking and burning under the
hood that has 4 different color wires and a little
black box on the end of that burnt.I made out

of relay is it and is this the troubleshoot, thanks!Had my sentra checked for CV joint and found that boot and oil seal bearing needs replacement. had it checked because there is constant noise when vehicle is in motion. When checked, the right wheel was slipping. I have the manual for this car, but unsure of how much i can fix in this problem? The boot is cracked and may have dirt and loss of lubricant inside. The removal process shows a sure lot of parts that come out with drive axle. where to start?? Cost to fix with CV joint, seal replacement, and alignment is approx. $280. How much is parts if i do all the work except for alignment. I think that i can replace/repair parts except for pressing bearing on drive axle? Manual said to take new bearing and three dust covers to bearing/machine shop..

I have installed new plugs and a fuel filter. What should I look at next?Turning Signals don't work. I don't know where the flashing unit is located. I found the fuse box to the left of the steering wheel and above the fuses behind the instrument panel I see 4 square plug ins which one is the flashing unit, or am I looking in the wrong place.car runs well at first then after about 8 miles when i come to a stoplight or stop it stalls and i have to wait a min.before it will start again.i replaced plugs, airfilter, and ran some enjector fuid in it and problem still persists. thank you wayneOdometer and trip odometer stopped working. 1st it did it over a certain speed, then it just stopped. The speedometer and all dash lights/functions/ gauges work. Is it the mechanism/gears in the dash, or something else? Thanks. -PCThree years ago, car was running great. One day I went to start it and it wouldn't start. Mechanic said no fuel getting to engine and that something of which there were 4 (can't remember what) wasn't firing and sending fuel. Needed diagnostic test w/ computer to determine which of the 4. Took to dealership and had "test" done, but they refused to give me computer print out. New mech looking at it now. Started(after three years sitting) Then stopped starting a couple days later. New mech replaced fuel pump, but I was wary that this was not the problem. Again, started a few days, but I picked up the car last night, started this morning and when I stopped, it won't start again. Can you point me in the right direction? or send a schematic of the fuel system and how it works. I think my mechanic 3 years ago really knew what he was doing, but he's gone now.Dashboard Lights are not working when lights are turned own. The panel lights also work only when the head lights are off. As soon as the lights are turned on, the panel lights go out. Fuses have been replaced but situation has not changed. Additionally, the horn does not blow when you press it. However, it blows when you lock the car with the alarm activator. HELPmy dash board lights do not come on when i turn the headlights on. when the headlights are off the clock iluminates, when the headlights are on it does not, i changed the stereo and i shorted something, (i heard a pop). i've changed all the bulbs in the dash board. i also disconnected all the stereo wiring and ran my own lines. can you please help.
gene s.Electric shoulder belts fail to move unless ignition in "Accessory" or started. Interior dome light fails to work always. Stock stereo works, but resets clock/stations set when car turned off. Third-party CD player/stereo fails to operate.
Have checked fuses, etc. Purchased used 24 months ago, new battery installed before purchase.My dad bought this old car so that I can have a way around. About 3 months later, the car started cutting off on me while driving. We replaced the fuel pump and it still does the same thing. The list of parts I have replace are: The fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs and their wires, air filter, and the PCV valve. The car does two things - 1) When it is cold, you can drive some where for a short period of time. After it is hot, when you shut off the car, it will restart, then 60 seconds later cut off. The carburator will be empty. If you prime the carb. sometimes it'll run until your next stop, sometimes it won't. When it does this the fuel filter will be full but the carb. will be empty. Or 2) the car will start up and after the first trip, the fuel filter will go empty and the car won't start at all. You have to prime the carb. several times to get it restarted. Eventually I have success and the fuel filter will fill up. Do you know what would be causing the car to do this?It's a 1989 wagon. I just bought the car. The car has 90, 000 miles on it and it's very clean. It starts chugging and trying to stall sometimes when idling or or between 40-60 mph. Once the chugging starts it idles rough. Right after I bought the car, the fan stopped turning on and it was trying to get hot so I replaced the thermostat. It turns out the thermostat was stuck shut and that problem stopped, but it still chuggs. I noticed it does chugg more when warm. I have been going crazy trying to stop the chugging, and while trying to narrow down the problem I have replaced the egr valve, pcv valve, distributor, ignition wires, plugs, air filter and fuel filter. I also cleaned the throttle body with throttle body cleaner and changed suspicious vacuum hoses. Between the chugging spells it seems to run smooth. It's an automatic and I noticed that when it's doing the chugging that the shifting is really delayed. I'm stumped.My temperature guage is always showing 1/4 even when cold and my fuel guage does not go below 1/2 tank. I may need a temperature sending unit for the temp guage but where do I find this part on the engine?intermittently had the problem of not starting, but now it has been two weeks since it started last. seems like it floods out and holding the pedal to the floor is how it started again earlier. this time it seems to help. but it just wont start, it chugs occasionally but it won't keep going
